3 Days of AR11429 – Lots of Activity

20120305 xray 570x427 3 Days of AR11429 Lots of Activity
Sunspot group AR11429! Here is a look at AR11429 from Friday to today showing the 2 M-class and 1 X-class flare blasting away from the Sun. In addition to those events and their associated CMEs there is a lot of activity from the active region and the area surrounding it. This video is a composite of the 171 and 304 Angstrom wavelength cameras from SDO. The 171 Angstrom channel shows us the plasma filled magnetic loops and the 304 Angstrom channel shows cooler material and a lot of mass moving around. Viewing multiple wavelengths at once gives us a better picture of all the activity.
